Muster Day 2012 - American Heroes Celebration Date: 20-22 April 2012 Location: Camp Mabry, Austin, Texas Directions: Google Maps Sponsor: Texas Military Forces Museum Event Details: Living history exhibits, historic weapons firing demos, military vehicle rides, historic and current military vehicle and aircraft displays, and 36th Division band concert. The battle recreates the battle of Montelimar in September 1944, when the 36th Infantry Division almost cut off the retreat of the German 19th Army following the invasion of Southern France. This will be a vehicle heavy event. Besides the museum's Sherman tank, M3 halftrack and Hetzer, there will be a Stug III, German halftrack, M8 Armored Car, M5 Stuart Tank, and an additional Sherman Tank. Pre-Registration required. Memorial Day Armed Forces Event Date: 25-27 May 2012 Location: Palisitine, Texas, Park Road 76, US Hwy 84 West, Rusk, TX 75785 Directions: Google Maps Sponsor: Texas State Railroad State Historical Park Event Details: Participants and spectators can ride to the "German Village of Rheinhausen" on the military transport train. Spectators can watch the battle unfold from their seats. During the ride to the battle spectators can walk through the train and to a historic mock-up of General Patton's railcar.
